Black Girls Doing It - 3 Canvases

This artwork is a tribute to the incredible young Black women who are excelling as professional athletes today. When I was growing up, it was rare to see Black women in sports like tennis and gymnastics, but now, athletes like Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, and Simone Biles are making history.

These three canvases honor their achievements: Serena, a retired tennis champion; Coco, the 2023 US Open winner; and Simone, a groundbreaking gymnast. Their success inspires countless others, especially young Black women, to pursue their dreams in sports.

Through their talent and determination, these athletes have shattered barriers and become symbols of empowerment. These canvases serve as a celebration of their remarkable contributions to the world of sports.

The scripture I added to Simone’s painting says it all “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
